I want my students to recognize the value of having a positive attitude, learn to focus on the "I cans," and believe in themselves and their abilities. I grew up in Prairie Farm, WI; a small town in the northwestern par of the state. After I graduated I spent five years in Boston as a nanny for one family. I returned to Wisconsin and settled in Stevens Point. I graduated from UWSP in December and I am currently working as a 6th grade intern (full year) at Washington Elementary. I have been working for the Stevens Point School District for fine years as an assistant gymnastics coach at SPASH. I also spent two seasons coaching volleyball at Ben Franklin Junior High. My interests include biking, hiking, camping, reading and hanging out with loved ones.
Interview by Anna Where were you born? I was born in Cumberland, WI. Where did you go to college? I went to school at UWSP, I also took class in Boston Massachusetts. Who are you married to? DuWayne Behnke, he is a gym teacher in the district. Who is your favorite foot ball team? The Green Bay Packers. Who are your best friends? My best friends are Sally Wilkinson, and Ronda Brown. What is your goal in teaching? My goal is that I want all of my students to be successful, in the classroom. I also want students to leave my class believing in themselves and have a positive attitude. Do you have a pet, and if you do what kind? I have a lab and his name is Deke. What are your hobbies? I love exercising, and spending time with my husband and dog, and teaching.
