Reflections
Materials have been distributed to all schools. Barb is meeting individually with
school district staff. More information is available on the Internet.
Membership
PTSA membership brochures were sent out to families at all district schools.
Memberships keep coming as the year continues. Membership is currently stands at 37.
Gifted and Talented
Randy reported on the last district advisory committee G/T meeting. Shared the
frustrations of the program being under funded. Currently the district is not meeting the
needs of the wide range of G/T students, in particularly gifted students in the regular
classroom.
Vote on Resolution of Proposed Elementary School Improvements
The PTSA voted to support the efforts of the school district to upgrade/remodel the
grade schools.
New Business:
Parent Supervised Open Computer Labs
The idea of having more community access to school district computer labs was discussed
and is encouraged. Parent volunteers are needed.
Addition of Discussion Group to PTSA Web Page
After brief discussion, it was decided that we will not create a discussion site on
our web page. We need to wait until there are more parents connected to the web.
Combining PTSA and PTO Council Minutes
Toward the end of the meeting, we decided, with no opposition, to combine the
minutes of the PTO Council with the PTSA. Since each school represented on the PTO Council
has at least one PTSA member and the issues are of concern to both groups, we thought this
would be more efficient.
