Gifted and Talented Associations and Organizations

 

Stevens Point G/T Information Site - The site was created by parents and serves as a place to post information, announce upcoming meetings, and communicate with one another via email.

Network for Gifted Education - provides assistance, advice and resources for those involved with the education of gifted students.   Located at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

Stevens Point Area Public School District GT pages - Pages outline the program and services available to gifted and talented students in the Stevens Point Area Public School District.

Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted - Connect with state leaders in gifted education. Learn about state conferences, workshops and grants.  

WCATY: Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth, Inc. - The State Superintendent of Public Instruction officially endorsed the Midwest Talent Search (February, 1991) as a means of discerning talented students' academic needs.

National Association for Gifted Children  - The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is an organization of parents, educators, other professionals and community leaders who unite to address the unique needs of children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those children who may be able to develop their talent potential with appropriate educational experiences.  

Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted - In 1981, SENG began its mission of bringing attention to the special emotional needs of the gifted.  There was an unfulfilled need for gifted children, their parents and their teachers.  SENG is a nonprofit organization that provides services to its members and strives to make an impact on the field of gifted education.

Johns Hopkins University  - The Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth is a comprehensive, university-based initiative that promotes the academic ability of children and youth throughout the world.

Stanford Education Program for Gifted Youth  -  The Education Program for Gifted Youth grows out of over 35 years of research at Stanford University in both gifted education and computer-based distance learning.

Center for Talent Development - Northwestern  University's,  Center for Talent Development was founded in 1981.   Provides real-time testing and educational programs for thousands of gifted students from preschool through high school each year.

GTWorld:   An on-line support community for parents of Gifted and Talented children. Others interested in supporting and nurturing gifted and talented children are also most welcome.

Canadian Parents Online Inc.   -  Are You Wondering If You Have A Gifted Child?

Council for Exceptional Children - The largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.
