Gifted and Talented Links
TAGFam - site devoted to the families who have gifted or talented children.  Good vehicle for contacting other families and resources.  Lots of help with personal, social, emotional aspects of giftedness. LOTS of Stuff, run down through the Site map, Mailing lists, etc.

Boulder Valley School District -  this school district has done a fantastic job using the web to provide information about the district to parents, students and other educators.   Their GT Page, while not exceptionally fancy,  makes a wealth of information available.  You won't believe what this district does for its GT students!  See also: Wisconsin Schools on the Web (link below) - nice examples of how schools and school districts are making use of the web.

Virtual High School - VHS is a cooperative currently consisting of about 40 schools that offer each other high-quality online high school courses. Interesting concept - particularly as we continue to deal with resource issues in the Stevens Point District.   By joining the cooperative, a school instantly adds many new courses their students can take for free. Schools that join this spring (1999) can expect that there will be over 200 courses available in the 2000-2001 academic year when they will become full participants.

CyberSpace Middle School - site created for and by 6,7,8, and 9th graders. Designed to show off some neat stuff, help kids with their Science Fair projects.  The site's designed to be used by students, parents, and grandparents.

Wisconsin Schools on the Web - list of schools who have web sites.  There are a few busted links, but there are also well over 300 schools and school districts with sites.  The only web site related to Stevens Point is that associated with the Catholic Schools.

Gifted Resources Home Page - a compendium of resources for gifted education.  Links to publications, organizations, guidelines, ERIC, etc.

STANFORD EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR GIFTED YOUTH -  The Education Program for Gifted Youth grows out of over 35 years of research at Stanford University in both gifted education and computer-based distance
learning.

Canadian Parents Online Inc.   -  Are You Wondering If You Have A Gifted Child?

Johns Hopkins University  - The Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth is a comprehensive, university-based initiative that promotes the academic ability of children and youth throughout the world.

WCATY: Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth, Inc. - The State Superintendent of Public Instruction officially endorsed the Midwest Talent Search (February, 1991) as a means of discerning talented students' academic needs.

TAGFAM  Support Community    The creation of this Internet-based support community is one of those "Field of Dreams" type stories -- we built it and *they* came.   9000 messages in two years!

Prufrock Press   The Leading Publisher Supporting the Education of Gifted and Talented Children

Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development  - The mission of The National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented is to plan and conduct theory-driven quantitative and qualitative research that is
